Whatsoever Is Lovely: Rhus glabra

Rhus glabra,
(AKA white sumac, upland sumac,
or scarlet sumac)
is a species of sumac
in the family Anacardiaceae,
native to North America.
Native Americans ate
the young sprouts as a salad.
The fruit is sour
and contains a large seed,
but can be chewed (to alleviate thirst)
and made into a lemonade-like drink.

I am an avid reader. I read mostly Amish fiction but also read other novels. I enjoy romance, mystery, and Christian devotionals. I enjoy hiking in the outdoors, especially in Greenways and State or National Parks. I love my grandson. He is my favorite subject, so I'll post about him and his antics.
