Goodness:

Goodness is
Love in Action

Goodness: what is it? It is the quality of being morally good or virtuous according to the Oxford dictionary. Examples of goodness are volunteering at a homeless shelter, a food bank, or it could be the nutritious skin on a vegetable. Basically, it is the state of being good.

God is good,
even when life is not.
Believe in Him.

The Bible tells us that the word ‘good’ means holy, pure, and righteousness. Goodness is Godliness. Our goodness can be seen by others in our actions. We also need to have pure hearts. We should demonstrate the goodness of Christ daily in our lives.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”

Psalm 23:6 (KJV)
Be kind and compassionate
to one another,
forgiving each other,
just as in Christ
God forgave you.
Ephesians 4:32

“For this reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.

1 Peter 1:5-7

Where would this world be without goodness in it? It would be in a lot worse shape than it is now. everyone deserves to be shown goodness and kindness. Everyone deserves to be loved. God loves each and every one of us and we should do no less than show love to everyone we come in contact with without reservation or conditions.

Do we always feel like showing goodness to others? Probably not. It is when we do not feel like it that we should do it all the more. That is when we need to call on the strength of the Lord Jesus Christ to help us show HIs love and Goodness to others. We need to remember that God love us very much and will never stop loving us and showing us goodness and mercy. God is Great.

Trust in the LORD: Completely and Wholeheartedly

Why should we/I trust the LORD? Can I not trust myself? In reality, I don’t think I can fully trust myself to make wise decisions. Trusting God with my life takes faith.

Faith is having complete unequivocal trust or confidence in someone or something. I know when I have not relied on God to help me in my decision making, I have made some choices which I might not have made if I had trusted Him with my life.

Faith
is trusting God
even when you
don’t understand
His plan.

We are to trust with our whole heart ❤️. Not with part of our heart ❤️, but all of heart. Trust needs to be done with complete confidence, not lacking Faith. Believe God will take care of you/me. God keeps His promises. He has promised to guide us, strengthen us, direct our paths, and always be there for us regardless of our needs or circumstances.

2 Chronicles 20:20 KJV

My thoughts are not God’s thoughts. My mind is finite with limited understanding. I cannot fully comprehend everything about God or His power. Reading the Bible can give me insight into who God is and His characteristics, but to truly understand even a fraction of who God is and what He can do we/I have to have a relationship with Him. Relationships take work. If I don’t communicate with Jesus, how do I expect to hear Him. To trust Him is to know Him, believe in Him.

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death”

Proverbs 14:12

“A man’s mind plans his ways [as he journeys through life], But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them.”

Proverbs 16:9 AMP

I might plan all I want, make decisions, but if I do not include God in the process and trust Him all will be for not. God knows what’s best for my life and even if I can’t see what that is or understand His plan, I know He has my best interest at heart and He will never leave or fail me.

God bless. Trust in God. God loves you! I appreciate y’all. Thanks for visiting and please come again soon.

The Bible has plenty to say on the subjects of friends and friendship. We are to be a friend to everyone, show them love, kindness, and respect. We are to pray for them and forgive always. A true friend always encourages and builds you up. They are they for you through thick and thin, the good and the bad.

Oil and incense
bring joy to the heart,
and the sweetness of a friend
is better than self-counsel.
Proverbs 27:9
The righteous choose
their friends carefully,
but the way of the wicked
leads them astray.
Proverbs 12:26 NIV
My intercessor
is my friend
as my eyes
pour out tears to God;
on behalf of a man
he pleads with God
as one pleads
for a friend.
Job 16:20-21

Jesus Christ is my intercessor, he hears my cries and pleads with God on my behalf. What better friend can I have than Jesus.

https://youtu.be/znWu2HCJ92c What a Friend We have in Jesus song by Alan Jackson.

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
And what a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer

Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer

Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer

Rambling on ….. ranting ….. sometimes you just need to vent hoping someone understands.

I don’t get out much since the pandemic began, not sure 🤔 who is safe to be around. My eye sight is not as good as it used to be, therefore I do not drive and go places much. Sometimes I am so lonely I could cry. Maybe it’s of my own making, maybe it’s an inner turmoil, and maybe it’s a feeling of being unloved.

It doesn’t matter what you call it, feelings are real. People, especially family, don’t seem to understand. They are too wrapped up in themselves and their phones to even notice.

I was able to borrow my daughter’s car yesterday, so I went for a drive. I checked my mailbox 📫, mostly junk, but it needed cleared out. Later I went and visited a friend I hadn’t seen in person for two years. It felt good.

My daughter texted and asked if I was okay since I was in the same area for a couple hours. I hadn’t realized I was on a time limit with her car. Who knew? Not me.

I said to her I was visiting a friend. She replied “Huh, a friend????” That was like a slap in my face, as if she didn’t think I had any friends. True most of my friends I only communicate with online nowadays, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have any friends at all. It makes me sad that she thinks I have no one, not a single friend.

After her text, I left my friend’s home and headed back “home”. I say “home” in quotation marks because I get reminded all the time it is not my home. I’ve just been staying there for the past two years taking care of my grandson, but I can’t call it home according to them.

After all that, I arrived back to find out she wasn’t even home. So then I wonder why was she so concerned about his long I was gone. After all she said I could use her car. I think she thought I would only check my mail & come straight back. I guess I surprised her when I didn’t.

Today, I’m sitting all alone in room. She hasn’t checked on me, texted me, or anything. At times like this it seems, to me, I don’t exist to her.

Enough ranting… I know God loves me and cares for me. I’ll be alright.

God bless. Be a friend. Let people know you care about them. Show others love and kindness.
