Del Taco
I have not eaten at a Del Taco in years and years. There was one in Rock Hill, South Carolina once which debut in 2010 and closed its doors in early 2014.
Del Taco is a California based fast-food chain serving both Mexican-inspired Tacos and classic American cheese burgers all under one roof.

Kissimmee, Florida
The Del Taco chain was founded by Ed Hackbarth and David Jameson, who opened the very first location. It was originally named Casa Del Taco and was located in Yermo, California opening on September 16, 1964. On their first day of business they made a whopping $169 in sales. I know, you’re thinking that’s not very much in the financial realm of business. You gotta remember that was in 1964. The original menu featured 19¢ Tacos and 24¢ cheeseburgers.
The Original location in Yermo was entirely in a desert area located right in the heart of the Mojave Desert, only thirteen (13) miles from Barstow, California. In 1966, Del Taco opened its fifth (5th) location in Corona, California. This location featured the chains first drive-thru window. [The Corona location is the location I frequented after I was first married and later when we moved back to California after being away for almost five (5) years.]

The Casa was officially dropped from its name in 1973, becoming Del Taco, Inc.. By 1978 the chain had grown to 100 restaurants reaching a tremendous milestone. After achieving this major milestone, the company began expanding outside of California, including Texas, Oklahoma, and eventually Florida during the 1980’s.
Fast forward to this week, my daughter was thrilled to find a Del Taco near was she was staying in Kissimmee, Florida. She texted that the food was as good as she remembered.
