Be Strong and of Good Courage

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with the whithersoever thou goest.”

Joshua 1:9

Joshua took Moses’ place and led the Israelites into the promised land. He needed to have faith, be strong and have courage to do so. He had to have faith that the Lord would provide a way for the Israelites to cross the Jordan River. Crossing the Jordan River was absolutely necessary in order for them to reach the Promised Land.

What stood between
the Israelites
and their promised land?

Have you ever done something or been faced with a major decision demanded you to have courage? Every day we are faced with situations or decisions that need to be made. A lot of the times those could be difficult to accomplish on our own accord. In those trying times we need to turn to the Lord to give us the wisdom and strength to make the right decisions and to help us manage to overcome strenuous situations.

Have you ever
done something
that required
you to have
courage?

When the Israelite Priests stepped into the water 💦 a miraculous thing happened. What was it? It was the Lord God Almighty parting the waters of the Jordan River just like he had done previously with the Red Sea for Moses.

The parting of the waters
Have you ever walked across a river, creek, or stream?

Has God done miraculous things in your life? Have you ever stopped a reflected on all he has done for you? I have from time to time and realize I would not be who I am or where I am except for the power and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. I encourage you to make the time to reflect on what God has done for you and the obstacles he has seen you through.

Joshua instructed the people of Israel to be courageous, keep God’s commandments, and love the Lord. He reminded them of all the amazing miracles they had seen when they had been faithful, and of the bad things that happened when they didn’t keep God’s commandments. Do you believe that good things happen in your life more so when you are being faithful to Him? Can you see where and how things are more difficult when you do not follow God’s instructions? I know there’s a tremendous difference in my life when I’m listening and following God’s guidance and when I’m trying to live my life under my own power.

Be Strong
and
Courageous

I encourage you to be courageous, to not judge others, and to stand firm in your faith for truth and righteousness. Let God be your guide as you walk daily, with faith and courage.

God bless. Be courageous. Be faithful. Be strong. Thank you! Remember I appreciate y’all.

Trust in the LORD: Completely and Wholeheartedly

Why should we/I trust the LORD? Can I not trust myself? In reality, I don’t think I can fully trust myself to make wise decisions. Trusting God with my life takes faith.

Faith is having complete unequivocal trust or confidence in someone or something. I know when I have not relied on God to help me in my decision making, I have made some choices which I might not have made if I had trusted Him with my life.

Faith
is trusting God
even when you
don’t understand
His plan.

We are to trust with our whole heart ❤️. Not with part of our heart ❤️, but all of heart. Trust needs to be done with complete confidence, not lacking Faith. Believe God will take care of you/me. God keeps His promises. He has promised to guide us, strengthen us, direct our paths, and always be there for us regardless of our needs or circumstances.

2 Chronicles 20:20 KJV

My thoughts are not God’s thoughts. My mind is finite with limited understanding. I cannot fully comprehend everything about God or His power. Reading the Bible can give me insight into who God is and His characteristics, but to truly understand even a fraction of who God is and what He can do we/I have to have a relationship with Him. Relationships take work. If I don’t communicate with Jesus, how do I expect to hear Him. To trust Him is to know Him, believe in Him.

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death”

Proverbs 14:12

“A man’s mind plans his ways [as he journeys through life], But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them.”

Proverbs 16:9 AMP

I might plan all I want, make decisions, but if I do not include God in the process and trust Him all will be for not. God knows what’s best for my life and even if I can’t see what that is or understand His plan, I know He has my best interest at heart and He will never leave or fail me.

God bless. Trust in God. God loves you! I appreciate y’all. Thanks for visiting and please come again soon.

ADVICE: What would your advice be to your teenage self?

Never Look Down on Anybody…..

If you could go back in time, would you? Would you go back and give yourself some advice? Would giving yourself advice change the outcome of how you live is right now? Yes, we have all made mistakes in our lives, but I believe we have all learned from them. I, at least, hope I have. Going back in time and giving advice to oneself could be a dangerous thing. Why? If we took our own advice, did things differently, our mistakes would not necessarily be the same. We would still make mistakes no doubt about that, but the lessons we learned would be different and the transitions we’ve gone through in life would not be the same. Therefore, we would be in an alternate universe so to speak. Plainly speaking, we would not be where we are today. At this point in time, if we listened to our own advice and made changes to how we lived. Then again, only God knows what the outcome would be.

ADVICE

Giving advice would mean that we were giving ourselves guidance, opinions, or recommendations regarding our future actions and conduct. Would that be a good or bad? Giving advice to yourself after everything you’ve lived and experienced might hinder yourself from taking the time to look inward and listen to yourself. To learn on your own, at that particular time period, who you are and what you want out of life. Advice should only be given if it is sought after. Even though we have learned that we probably should have done some things differently when we were teenagers, we might not have listened to the advice we gave ourselves if we went back in time to give it.

Now we are at an impasse. Do we give ourselves advice? What would be the best advice to give ourselves? There is not just one specific piece of advice I would give myself, but several suggestions would be made. The following is a list of some of the suggestions I would advise myself.

  • Never Give Up….You are stronger than you think…You can do anything.
  • Never try to be someone else…you are perfect exactly as you are.
  • Stay true to your faith…. Live your life for God
  • Take time to know yourself…Learn who you are.
  • Worry less…live in the present
  • Don’t make assumptions…. they’re usually wrong
  • Be courageous…. Step out of your Comfort Zone
  • Trust yourself… Have faith in your abilities
  • Smile… Laugh… Be kind… your life will be different by doing so
  • Always be the best person you can be.
  • Do not judge… you never know what someone has been through

The list could go on forever, but I won’t. Always choose your words wisely, they can never be undone. You can beat the odds. Know what you are meant to do and don’t let anyone, or anything prevent you from doing what you know in your heart you are meant to do.

God bless. Be the best you can be. Stay true to yourself. Keep the faith. Please feel free to like, comment, and follow. I appreciate y’all.
