God Bless. Sky watching can be dramatic, amazing to watch the Sun Rise in the mornings. Thank you for visiting and sharing your time and thoughts with us. I appreciate y’all very much.
Thursday was cold with lows in the low twenties (21°) warming into the low 40’s.
Friday Afternoon, 01.10
Currently, it is 29° and snowing where we live. Normally, if we get snow ❄️, we don’t get it until near the end of January/early February. We haven’t seen snow since mid-January 2022. WSOC 9 Now reported that this is the “First snow in Charlotte in 1076 days.” [The Town of Cramerton is just 18-20 minutes southwest of Charlotte International Airport.]
As you may have noticed, Coleman managed to scoot past me without proper attire to see our first drops of snow ❄️. Don’t worry, I didn’t let him stay out for very long with no jacket or shoes.
It is supposed to keep snowing until around 6:30 (more or less) and then switch over to a wintry mix throughout the evening and on into early Saturday morning.
For larger enhanced viewing, please click on each individual photo. Sometimes the Sky seems like God painted a beautiful picture just for us to enjoy and be amazed at His Majestic Creation.,
Our view of the Skyline often changes from day to day; moment to moment; and even minute to minute. It can be beautiful clear blue skies one minute and a few hours, minutes, or seconds later you might encounter hazy grey skies or dark cloudy skies with an amazing view of the sun rising into the Sky.
It is officially Spring, however, the winter cold weather is hanging around not wanting to go away. Thankfully we are not getting the deluge of snowfall some areas are experiencing.
Here our weather and sky can change dramatically within a matter of minutes. The following shows our Weekend Sky – Weather on Saturday.
The change in the sky was only thirty minutes from blue skies to dark cloudy skies.
The previous post photos were all shot on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. These photos were all Shot on Canon. The Solar Eclipse in my area was only a partial solar eclipse, however it was still amazing to observe. These probably would have turned out better if I had the proper filter to use for the occasion. [Filters for Canon are on my wish list]. I hope you enjoy the video of my view of the Solar Eclipse.

I do not often see such amazingly beautiful sunsets where I live amongst all the buildings and such. This night I was lucky to be outside at just the right time.
As Coleman and I stepped outside our front door we had unexpected visitors greet us before we sojourned on a short walk around the complex. These unexpected guests were overjoyed to show us some loving.
Around 5:30pm this evening:
The first two photos in the slideshow below were take around 7:25pm from the back patio. The rest were taken between 7:30 and 8:00pm tonight. Notice how quickly the weather changes our view.
I decided to do a slideshow for this post to show the change in the sky from mid-week through the weekend. If you look closely, you’ll see more than blue skies cloudy skies.
These are just a sampling of what the weather has been like in my area. Storm after storm after storm keeps thundering down upon us. It might start out sunny in the mornings, but then by nightfall it is pouring down with thunderous rain again. At other times our mornings could start out with dark cloudy skies full of raindrops falling down our way. Sometimes it rains all day and then other times it will clear up during the afternoon only to have thunder showers again during the evening hours.

So to say I am tired of having rainy days is no small feat. I think we have had more rain this summer than any other summer in at least the last five years; ( note: my opinion only). I just wish with all this rainfall that our creek would rise, our spillways would be overflowing, and our lakes and rivers would rise. At this time period, our creeks are dry in a lot of areas, are lakes, rivers, and streams are down. Our spillways are not flowing; I love to see the spillways overflowing. Henceforth, even though I am tired of the rainy days I know and understand we need the rain.
Here I sit thinking about what words to type regarding Climate. Where I live now the climate can change within a matter of minutes sometimes catching you unaware. It can be bright and sunny 🌞 needing shades 😎 in the morning, beautiful white ☁️ clouds ⛅️ rolling in the afternoon, and pouring down rain with thunder and lightning ⚡️ ⛈️ by early evening.
Now the Climate in the county where I lived when I was growing up you could travel to the beach, the mountains, and the desert all in one day. If you did ; the Climate would be so you’d need your bathing suit and sunglasses 😎 and sunscreen at the beach, a warm jacket 🧥 in the mountains, and possibly all of the above in the desert 🏜️ depending on time of day and how long you intended to be there. Now don’t forget to bring along an umbrella 🌂 ☂️ ☔️ because you never know when the rains will come tumbling down upon you.
From Morning to Afternoon (Rains came a few later):
My grandson kept watching the skies today. He has amazing vision and can see much better than I, so much so he’ll point to where things are in the vast sky when I can only hear and am unable to see. He recognises the sound of airplanes ✈️ and wants me to capture them on camera. Unfortunately I only had the camera on my iPhone today. You’ll need to click on each photo and look closely by zooming, if necessary, to be able to the various images of aeroplanes.
This is our view of the sky as my grandson and I took Chewbacca (the dog) for a walk through the neighborhood behind where we live.
We have had freeze warnings for the evenings and early mornings for this whole week. It was a beautiful sight to see the amazing views in the sky above us today.
It is rare that I get out of an evening to be able to shoot some photos. Fortunately one evening over the weekend I was able to observe a full moon rising in the night sky. I only had my iPhone with me, but I figured why not go ahead a snap a few photos of the moon. I hope you enjoy what I was able to enjoy seeing the moon in the evening Sky.
