Happy October! This month has begun with several trips to the Schiele Museum and lots of hiking. First of was The Early Explorers program at the museum. Early Explorers is for preschoolers (2-5 year olds). They do interactive play, songs, story time , and a craft each week based on a weekly theme. This week’s theme was Pumpkin.
Later in the day we rode the city transit over to the Gaston County Warlick Family YMCA.
We meandered down & around along the Green Trail to enjoy a hike and look at we saw. We noticed some interesting fungi and some very active bees 🐝.
The bees were having a pollinating party 🎉 it seemed. They were flitting to and fro devouring the sweet nectar of these bright yellow flowers.
Lastly, we spotted a autumn 🍂 leaf 🍂 clinging to the windshield of his mom’s car later in the afternoon.

These were take at Glencairn Gardens in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Most of the plants and flowers are not in bloom. It appeared as if the had been trimmed way down for winter. Best time to visit the Gardens is in the springtime.
The next entry isn’t a flower and is added just for kicks. The photo was taken with my iPhone by my three year old grandson. All other photos were taken by me with my Canon Rebel EOS T3i.

From my archives: Disney Frozen on Ice
The above photos were taken at a performance of Disney’s Frozen on Ice at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina back on April 16, 2016.
We just barely got a tree this year. This is Coleman’s first HoHo (Christmas) Tree. He was so delighted that he finally has a HoHo Tree.

It’s been cold and rainy all week. On Wednesday, Coleman and I decided to try to beat the rain and ventured out to visit Forest at Anne Springs Close Greenway Horse Stables. It was sure cold 🥶 though. However, Coleman enjoyed his time visiting the horses. [Those pictures are saved for another post].
We spotted these Violet and White Flowers by the Gibson House on the way back to the car whilst trying not to get the camera wet. So naturally I had to capture them with a few snapshots. After all I did have my camera around my neck.
