It is sometimes grown in gardens for its attractive foliage and flowers, though it can prolifically seed, easily becoming a lawn weed.

Haven’t traveled too far since Covid-19 lockdown, however, in early 2020 I visited relatives in Texas. While there I would walk around the neighborhood or wherever the opportunity arose.

I spotted these lovely flowers while walking around my Aunt’s neighborhood in Abilene, Texas. It was taken with the cell phone I had at the time, an iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The weather this week has been cold and rainy, so this is a floral photo from mine and Coleman’s hike last week at Baxter Village Trailhead which is a part of the Carolina Thread Trail.

As I walked around my complex today I noticed these discarded flowers sitting out back of one of the apartments. I wondered why someone would just place them out their back door and not throw them away if they didn’t want them any more. It appeared as if there wasn’t much life to them anymore.

Today’s Walking Squares selection is putting the spotlight on Plumeria and the Atkinson Plumeria Farm.

The Atkinson’s have been growing and selling plumeria in San Diego’s East County since 1997. They also offer classes, consultation services, and sales throughout the year. Stacy also uses the various Plumeria to make leis and to teach others how to make them.
A lei is a garland or wreath common in Hawaii, across Polynesia, and the Philippines. A lei is a common symbol of love, friendship, celebration, honor or greeting. In essence, it is a symbol of Aloha.

My grandson, Coleman and I went for a walk through the city to see what shops were in walking distance from our apartment and spotted these bright yellow flowers along the way.

These flowers are Bidens. They are known by several common names as you can see from the various names I used for the photos. Bidens is a genus of flowering plants in the aster family, Asteraceae. The common names beggarticks, black jack, burr marigolds, cobbler’s pegs, Spanish needles, and tickseed sunflowers refer to the fruit of the plants.

Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge entries:

God Bless. Thank you! I appreciate y’all.
My entries for this week’s Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge taken from out my back day and walking a short 20 feet to our right. Not what you expect out back in an apartment complex.

God bless. Thank You! I appreciate y’all.
From my walkabout out my back door. This time my grandson and I ventured right took approximately 100 steps (mini steps) and located these creeping flower vines. My addition to Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge.

In North America, the trumpet vine is also known as the Hummingbird Vine. It can be seen in many areas throughout the Carolinas. I see them not only on the grounds of our apartment complex, but also in wooded areas along the Catawba River and along the trails at Anne Springs Close Greenway.
God Bless. Thank you! I appreciate y’all.
