I had plenty of time to look and Skywatch (Weekend Sky) on Friday afternoon waiting and waiting and waiting on the school tbus to bring Coleman back from school. I walked to the bus stop, arrived in plenty of time before the bus was supposed to arrive, but alas I had to wait what seemed like forever before it finally arrived.
I was traffic going up the hill and down the hill and no bus came from either direction for a long, long time. I watched the clouds up above in the sky, then watched a lone black bird soaring overhead. It soared back and forth and to and fro giving a very entertaining show for me while I stood, and stood, and stood some more. Is it a Coragyps atratus (Black Turkey Vulture) or a Ictinaetus malaiensis (Black Eagle)? I’ll let y’all decide and give me your feedback.

I know that the image may not be the best to determine the species. I only had my smartphone with me at the bus stop. Google Lens gives both as suggestions. Go figure.
Now how about looking at some zooming on “land” instead of in the “air.”
You may see the Sky contrast from the early morning Sky above the Amtrak to the afternoon Sky. All images taken from the bus stop up the street from our home.

Early every morning when Coleman and I walk to the bus stop we look up in wonder at the Morning Sky.
Most mornings lately we have had cloudy skies; some white clouds and some dark thunderous clouds, but today not so.
Today, the skies were clear with “stars” shining brightly. What I did not realize until after Coleman was on the bus and I was back home was that the brightest “Stars” we were seeing were not actually “Star” at all.
What we really saw in the early morning skies were the planets Venus, Jupiter and more dazzling images.
Hopefully you are able to see what we saw. It was an amazingly awesome sight to watch.

Early in the mornings and in the afternoons while waiting for the school bus to arrive we watch the trains go chugging along down the track. The speed at which it moves varies from time to time and sometimes we notice the graffiti artwork painted on different railway cars. These are a few examples of the artwork we’ve seen.

Fluffy cotton-like cloudscapes scattered our late afternoon/early evening skies. I’m not sure which type of clouds these are. Hammad, how are you on deciphering cloud formation types? Are they Altocumulus or possibly cirrocumulus stratiformis?
The cloudscape makes an interesting view flowing across the skies above us. What do y’all think?

The other day it was warm, but cloudy and windy. It was raining lightly when Coleman got off the school bus. We waited a half hour, the rain stopped, so we ventured down to Riverside Park and Greenway for him to play in the sand by the South Fork Catawba River.
These shots of the Sky(watch) were taken using an Altura 4 Star filter and an Altura CPL filter attachments. Occasionally, the sun tried to peek through the cloudy sky.

Stormy Clouds Rolling In
The Sky is a wondrous example of how as the weather changes quickly, so can the events in our lives. Be thankful for the good and the bad and remember God is in Control. Just as we need the rain and look forward to sunny days; our lives may seem dreary but blessings abound amongst us. Be thankful for the Rain as well as the Sunshine. Both are needed even if we prefer the good ole sunshiny days of life.

I wish I had a telescope 🔭 and could take pictures through it. This week the evening sky is delightful. Several planets are visible and a rare planetary parade is coming to the skies on the 21st. That’s why I wish I had a telescope, six planets (maybe seven) will be visible including Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus.
Enough of my wishes and here’s to show you what I could see just through my iPhone tonight.
According to Google Lens Search what I captured is the Constellation Orion.
Now to show you what stylized creation Google Photos Al created of my evening sky.
Before you ask, I will tell you that I really do not comprehend how Al arrived at this interpretation of my evening sky. Your guess would be as good as mine.

Weekend Sky
On Monday, after our weekend winter weather, was a delayed start for school for Coleman. Therefore, we were at the bus stop an hour later than normal and were treated with an amazing Red Sky. I am not sure if we need to take warning, that bad weather is coming or not. The weather forecast keeps changing from possible more winter weather to only rainy days ahead.

From Haziness to Cloudy
The first half of the week our skies were nothing but hazy skies where we live. By Wednesday the haziness of dawn slowly disappeared as the day progressed. By mid-afternoon noon I was pleased to see the beautiful blue skies despite the various clouds scattering hereabouts.

We recently moved and our new to us rental home has a swing on the front porch which Coleman claims is his swing. We haven’t had a swing on a porch since we lived with my uncle years ago. The beautiful views from our front porch are amazingly beautiful (even the view that is not of the sky).

We have been having a lot of rain throughout the year. This is today’s view of our rainy weather. I am thankful it is not as devastating here as for some of my friends in San Diego, California. I do long for a California visit to see old friends and acquaintances. It will have to wait for another time. In my dreams the weather is perfectly sunny ☀️, not too hot 🥵 , not too 🥶, but just right. No jacket or sweater necessary. A time to enjoy the beautiful beaches, take a hike in the desert or the mountains or possibly both. In my dreams, the days are filled with love and happiness surrounded my friends I care deeply about. Hopefully, one day it will come to pass.
