2026 CFFC: View from Public Transportation (Mar 30th)

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge 

Dan from No Facilities hosts the Fun Foto Challenge at and this week he is asking for our View from Public Transportation. I have gone into my archives for this one to past adventures on buses past and present.

First off, let me tell you I don’t do public transportation that often and when I do it is rare.

Coleman and I rode the Gastonia Transit Buses for approximately two (2) years before Gaston County disbanded the County Transit system and replaced it with Gaston Go Vans (which I still haven’t figured out how to arrange rides on them). The Buses were really convenient for Coleman and I to hop on and off (reduce fair for under 5 (under 3 was free) and seniors. We used to ride the buses all over Gastonia to various destinations such as: the library, The Schiele Museum of Natural History, Lineberger Park, Edwin Center, Warlick Family YMCA, Avon and Catawba Creek Greenways, and even to Walmart or Food Lion if we desired.

2025 CFFC: September 16 — Hobb(y)ies — Take Two

This week Dan of No Facilities, the host for the Fun Foto Challenge has chosen to continue with the theme of hobby/hobbies for us to continue show images of our hobbies we enjoy doing. This theme gives us a wide range of ideas about what we would like to post.

Last week I shared my hobbies of photography and hiking. I was glad to see some of Dan’s hiking adventures in his post this week. This week I’m displaying images of two different types of hobbies I enjoy.

The first one is my favourite, that of reading. I don’t normally have photos of my reading or of what I’m reading, however, I did find a few in my archives that should demonstrate sufficiently.

The second on here is one I enjoy, but haven’t had much time for lately. It is one that requires a vast amount of time on the computer or out and about in family history libraries, cemeteries, reunions, or genealogical conferences. Have you guessed yet what this hobby might be? If you guessed Genealogy you would be absolutely correct. I love researching and finding out more and more about my ancestors and our family history.

2024 CFFC: Weathered Wood

With the weather somewhat improving and a bit warmer (still not warm enough – jacket weather), Coleman and I are able to venture out on the trails for some delightful hiking. The trails are pretty muddy due to all the strong rainstorms we’ve been experiencing. Some of the trails are blocked off as closed for maintenance due to the damage occurring from the storms.

However, we managed to observe some amazingly beautiful sights ( not posted here.) Since we always hike in the woods, we (I) were able to capture a variety of weathered wood for this week’s challenge of Cee’s CFFC.
